What is the ACCA Manual S?
The ACCA Manual S standard is the scientific process used to select the right HVAC system(s) for your home based on the results of the Manual J heat gain/loss report. Some factors considered include local climate conditions, home construction, airflow requirements, and sensible/latent BTU (cooling capacity).
When is ACCA Manual S required?
In southern Arizona (and most other municipalities across the US), a Manual S compliance report is always required to obtain an HVAC system installation or replacement project permit.
